HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE ?

Colleges and Universities can begin to recruit students years in advance. The process can take time. We suggest starting the process 12 months in advance. This allows for more time to work closely with the athlete and find the right move.

WHAT IS A SCHOLARSHIP AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Scholarships are financial support awarded by an institution to students who demonstrate excellence on the field and/or in the classroom. There are two types of scholarships available. An academic scholarship is awarded for academic merit and an Athletic scholarship is awarded for athletic participation. Only Division 1 and 2 institutions can offer athletic scholarships.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COLLEGE AND A UNIVERSITY IN THE USA?

Colleges are also referred to as Junior Colleges. A Junior college is two year institution, whereas a university is a 4 year institution. Many students begin at a junior college and later transfer to a university.

CAN I BECOME A PROFESSIONAL FROM THIS EXPERIENCE?

With the right attitude and dedication anything is possible. If you are able to excel at the university the pathways are there. The opportunity is what you make it.

WHAT IS AN S.A.T EXAM?

An S.A.T is an exam that tests math and english levels. All students attending a 4 year university are required to take an S.A.T exam. However, the exam is not necessary for enrollment at many junior colleges.

WHO COVERS THE REMAINING COSTS AFTER AN OFFER IS RECEIVED?

The student athlete and their parents/guardians/sponsors are responsible for meeting remaining costs.

WHAT DEGREE WILL I EARN AND WILL IT TRANSLATE BACK IN MY COUNTRY OF ORIGIN?

A bachelor’s degree in the USA is recognised across the world. A bachelors degree accompanied with the experience of studying and living abroad whilst competing as a full time athlete can make you stand out from the crowd, especially to employers.

WHO DECIDES WHAT OFFER TO ACCEPT?

Your 343 agent will provide all the necessary information surrounding any offers that are received. At this point we recommend you also do your own research and take the time to talk to the coaching staff. The final decision is made by the student athlete and their family.
